The smaller Basilica is also the sanctuary of the Holy Christ of Telde, which also gives it name to the square itself. The façade is made of a combination of harmonic gothic style from the 16th Century together with the Neo-Gothic style dating from the beginning of the 20th Century.
In its interior we can appreciate Baroque style altarpieces. The great altarpiece stands out having in its centre the famous Flamenco-Gothic altarpiece which has shone in all its splendor since 1516. At the top of the Altar Piece the silver cross is also known as the Crucifixion of Christ of the Waters. It is also called “The Compassion of Telde”, its Mexican origin from the Tarascos Indians gives it great historical and artistic importance. A large portion of the treasure, which belongs to this Basilica, is housed within the “Camarín de la Virgen del Rosario” .
